Preparations are being made at Hidden Creek mitie, near Anyox, on the British Columbia coast, for the most terrific mining blast the World iias known. <>ne hundred tons of dynamite will bo exploded in the expectation that it will break up half a million tons,of rock, clean up old workings and facilitate new operations. The dynamite is being placed at various depths up td„£OCft., and com nected by electric wiring so that it may" be exploded as a single blast by a man who will be stationed at an electric key two miles distant. About 10QQ persons live in the village at Hidden Creek, and they will move temporarily well away from the scene. At least some buildings will be destroyed, but they are not of a permanent nature and can be replaced without much expense.
