Though recent attempts to stage a shark-hunt at Wainui beach have fallen short of success —owing mainly to the Jack oi co-operation upon the part of the sTiarks—Mr. Charles Ferris, the widelyknown Maori harpooner, proposes to make a further effort to diminish the numbers of the sea-tigers on the EastCoast to-morrow. There is ample evidence that sharks arc hanging about the reefs towards the Tualiine Point, and Mr. Ferris has baited an area fairly easy of access to the general public, where he hopes to harpoon a shark to-morrow. The best part of the day for liis purpose will bo between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., on the top third of the tide, and those who wish to share in the excitement of the hunt, which of course will involve no danger whatever to the spectators, will also have an opportunity of contributing fo the funds of the Anglican church at Wainui, in which Mr. Ferris lias taken a leading park
