To-day’s North Island Report. Overcast conditions were reported at Wellington this morning, but blue skies were reported else When; in the North Island. Light northerly breezes were general. Thu barometer had risen steadily since yesterday. Temperatures at 9 o’clock 'were: Auckland and Wei lington 72 degrees. Tanrangn. 73, East Cape 66, Opotiki 70, and Gisbomo and Napier 09. Moderate or smooth seas wen l reported everywhere. Last Night’s Forecast Pressure is high to the east of New Zealand, but rather low to the, north. A fresh depression is moving on to the south-west in the Tasman Sea. Winds north-east to north and light to fresh. Seas rattier tough north of East Cape; elsewhere smooth to moderate. In the eastern Tasman Sea light to fresh northeast to northerly winds, and moderate seas. Weather for the most part fair to lino and warm 1o hot, hub isolated rahjs still probable, with thunder in places. Midday Forecast General inference—An anticyclone of moderate intensity is moving on to the South Island. Pressure, though rising, is still relatively low in the north. Forecast.—Moderate to fresh east winds. Weather mainly fair to cloudy and warm, but scattered rains and thunder likely. Seas rather rough.
