TWO MEN RESCUED
CUT TELEPHONE LINE
(Eloc. Tel, Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received Dec. 28, noon.) PERTH, Dec. 28. A Postal Department mechanic who went out to repair a telephone line between Broome and Derby on Christmas Eve not only found the break, but also two men on tho point ol death from thirst.
One man, named Cameron, who was walking from Broorne to Darwin, had cut the wire in the hope that he would he rescued by the-repair party.
When Cameron revived, lie revealed that another man further along the iim was in a desperate plight. The mechanic discovered the second man scraping m the sand for water. Both men have now recovered.
