Santa Claus paid a visit to the Wairoa Hospital on Christmas morning and distributed gifts to the patients, all being highly pleased. Mr J. Agnew, who was injured at the R'uakituri. sports, is making good progress in the Wairoa Hospital. Mrs Gi'bbon, of “The Mill,” Waikaremoana, who has been a patient in the Wairoa Hospital for .some , time, passed away on Wednesday night. The funeral took place on Thursday. In addition to her husband, the deceased leaves a grown-up family to mourn their loss.
The following are to represent Wairoa at the L.V.A. regatta at Clive on February 16:—Senior fours; D. Jones (str.), K. Hall, M. Johansen, and B". Rees. Open lightweight fours: 8, Martin (str.), W. Martin, L. Gay, and B. Williamson. Junior fours: G. Logan (str.), P. Neale, C, Drager, afcd W. Innes. Youths’ fours: J. Racliinger (str.), D. Harker, G. Williamson, and Gollan.
