Overcast conditions wore reported^this morning at Gisborne and Capp, but blue skies, prevailed elsewhere in the North Island. Light northerly breezes were general. The barometer, was fairly steady. Temperatures at 9o'clock “wore: Auckland, Opotiki and Wellington, 74 degrees, Tauranga 73, East Cape 63, Gisborne 64, and Napier 71. Rough seas were reported at. Tintiri; elsewhere moderate or smooth.

Winds light to moderate, north-east to north predominating at first in and north of Oook Strait, south to south-east over> the South Island, and gradually becoming general. Seas smooth to, moderate, hut rising somewhat later, in Cook Strait. In the eastern Tasman Sea moderate to .strong south, to south-east winds, and moderate to rather rough seas. Weather fine on the .west coast of the, Sonth Island, elsewhere cloudy and rather unsettled, with scattered rain and in places thunder, Temperatures cooler.
