DISPUTE CONTINUED
ABYSSINIA AND ITALY
MUTUAL RECRIMINATIONS
(Received Dec. 27, 2 p.m.) GENEVA, Dec. 20;
An Abyssinian note, declaring that the situation is increasingly serious, alleges that the Italians are advancing into. Abyssinian territory, building a road towards A don Gerlogubi, over which Italian planes carried out a reconnaissance, apparently as a prelude to a further attack, and also occupied Afdub. Italian officials deny that the Italians have advanced, and point out that Afdub has been under Italian control for years. They declare that reconnaissance flights are necessitated by the massing of Abyssinians, and also deny the intention of taking the initiative. Italy is ready to settle the boundary question when the demand for reparations for the Ualual incident is fulfilled.
