SIR THOMAS WILFORD
PUBLIC LIFE ENDED
COMING VISIT TO N.Z.
LONDON, Nov. 6.
Sir Thomas and Lady Wiliord are going to New Zealand for a short visit of live weeks.- They have booked their passages by the Akaroa, leaving Southampton on November 30, and on their way back, in March, they hope to meet at Panama their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Edward PenroseFitz Gerald. The former will be coming to England from Peru on leave then. At present the Hon. Mrs. R. Anthony Eden,is visiting Mrs. Penrose-FitzGerald at Lima.
On arrival in the Dominion, Sir Thomas will spend some time with his. mother, in the Nortli Island, and Lady Wilford will visit her sisters in Dunedin. A considerable portion of Sir Thomas’ brief stay in the Dominion will be devoted to business.
Sir Thomas says he has completely finished his public life. Ho is enjoying bis experiences as a business man and as a private individual, and. his time is thus very happily and pleasantly engaged. Sir Thomas and Lady Wilford have been invited to the Royal wedding in Westminster Abbey. As deputychairman of the Federated Chambers of Commerce of the British Empire, of which Lord Elibank is president and Sir John Sandeman Allen chairman, Sir Thomas has the opportunity of keeping in touch with leading business men from all parts of the Empire.
