STRUCK BY STONE
YOUNG COUPLE INJURED

When watching a fireworks display given on Hie harbor last night, two young people who were sitting on the steep hillside of Mt. Victoria, Devonport, were struck on tile heads by a stone which rolled from above.
Apparently someone above dislodged a number of stones, which rolled past tho couple. Then came a larger one which struck the young man, G. L. Griffin, knocking him unconscious, and then struck his girl companion on the head. Both were sent home. Griffith quickly recovered consciousness, and wals at work to-day, blit Miss Connor, wltase head was severely gashed, may he in bed for a week.
Whether Hie stones were deliberately rolled down the hill is not known.
