Warm appreciation of the native land settlement schemes formulated and put into operation by Sir Apirana 'Ngata .was expressed by Mr. W. C. Morris, headmaster of St. Stephen’s School, Bombay, Auckland, in his report at the annual prize-giving at the school, i *‘l may be pardoned for introducing another subject, which I mentioned two years ago,” Sir. Morris said. “I want to state publicly again that I think the work that has been done by Sir Apirana Ngata is most valuablo and necessary, not only to tho Maori race, but to the Dominion. I am referring particularly to the development and I trust that his zeal for work arid Iris interest iu Iris people will Aever diriiinish. I have the very greatest admiration for what he has done to give hope to the hopeless and courage to the disheartened.”
