Mr. Gore Porter, Reefton, is visiting) his parents, Mr. and Mrs. 11. M. Porter, Gisborne. Gisborne visitors to Auckland for the Christmas holidays included: * Mr and Mrs A. J. Russell, Mr 8. W. Moscrip, Messrs. J. and L. Duncombe, and Mr and Mrs J. H. Carver, Tokoniaru Bay. Miss E. Robb, of. the. Gisborne telephone exchange staff, is spending a holiday in the South Island in company with bet’ sister, Miss Dorothy llobb, of Auckland. They intend to visit Mt. Cook Hermitage and will later proceed to Dunedin.

The Rev. W. R. Milne, of Wellington and formerly of Wairoa, left last Thursday by the Wnnganoila to spend a few weeks with his parents in Victoria. He was accompanied by 'Mrs Milne.

Chief Judge R. N. Jones, of the Native Land Court, is spending a portion of the Christmas vacation at Gisborne, and later will visit relatives in Hawke’s Bay before returning to his headquarters in Wellington. Constable 11. K. Waller has been transferred to Auckland, where he has taken oyer his. new duties. lie will be replaced by Constablo G. A. McCurrach, of Auckland.
