YOUNG MAN REMANDED
CHARGE OF MAN- ’ slaughter

HASTINGS, lost night
As a result- of serious head injuries received when he fell after being cowardly attacked on Christmas Eve, the death occurred late last night of Wilfred George Farquharson, 18, second son of Detective Farquharson, of Hast-
ings. Deceased accompanied a fellow girl employee' home after the shops closed, assisting her with her parcels. Cn arrival at the girl’s home, Mr Fiirqtiliarson was approached from behind and dealt a blow while still holding tIt '* parcels. The blow was sufficient to fell the young man, who struck his head on the concrete kerbiltg in the fall, with the result that he received serious injuries. Mr. Farquharson was taken home in a ear in an unconscious condition by a friend. For a brief period only be regained consciousness, and died some 24 hours later.
As a sequel u young man, Maurice Jo pies Brobker, appeared in the Police Court tiiis thorniilg, charged with ’man slaughter, and lie was remanded till January 16, bail being refused. Mr. Earqnhnrson was a very popular anil well known youth.
