The Poverty Bay and East Coast Lawn Tennis Association’s annual district tournament, in both championsJiip and handicap divisions, will be commenced on Wednesday, Boxing Day, on the.Gisborne club courts, Kaiti, the entries being fairly satisfactory and the prospects of keen competition being considered excellent. The officials of the association have had a busy time during the past few days, receiving entrjes', handicapping the prospective players in .the handicap section, and preparing .the order of play so that the public will see the tournament to the best advantage.
