The Blenheim borough engineer, Mr. ,T. Anna bell, has left Wellington, intending to spend about, three weeks in an extensive motor tour ot the North Island, extending as far as Whakatane and Gisborne. He will be accompanied by Mrs. Annaoell and their two sons, Mr. Reynolds Amiaboll and Master Annabel!. The tendency to pile luggage, especially camping gear, on the front bumper of motor cars in such a manqer as to obscure the front number plate, was the subject- of a warning issued by the Automobile Association (Auckland). The association pointed out that this was a breach of tho motor regulations, and urged members to watch this matter before setting out, on holiday tours. The association has been advised by traffic authorities thafc number plates must be kept clear, and that offenders in this respect are likely to be prosecuted. Piled suitcases on the rear carrier also need careful watching, in case the back number is obscured.
