Op Friday night Mrs. Harris and. Mrs. Bi'Otlie were'joint- hostesses at'a delight-fully-arranged dinner party in honor ot Mr. and Mrs. D. Lumsden, who left the Coast on Saturday fop Auckland. The tables, were mpst arti’stßaljy decorated with large howls of gaillaVdia and blue Japanese, irises. Mrs. Harris received the guests wearing a black georgette frock with block lace coatee, while Mrs. Brodie chose ,i beautiful coffee lace frock with coatee to match. The guest of honor looked very becoming in a model frock of lettuce-green georgette, Among those present were: Mesdames G. Elvers, Harris, Brodie, D. Lumsden, J. L. Grant, Porfer, _H. C. A meeting of the East Coast Registered Nurses’ Association was held at tlie residence of Mrs. I. S. C. Dalgairns, Ruatorial, to meet Miss Lambie, director ciLthe nursing division of the Health Department. The president, Mrs.- G., Eivers, welcomed -Miss Lanibie. Miss Iximbie gave an interesting.address on the origin, growth and aims of the Nurses’ Association, at Iho conclusion of which a. delicious afternoon tea was served. A vote of thanks was gassed to Mrs. Dalgairns for her hospitality. The president also thanked Miss Lambie.

Those present were:—Mesdames T. S. C. Dalgairns, G. Eivers, King, Boag, Hovell, Murtagh, Mnlloolv, T. Reedy, and E. .Toblin; Misses Lambie (Wellington). North (Gisborne), Cornish, Heikell. Williamson, Hicks Bay, returns home on Saturday Rom Gisborne. —Mr. and Mrs. John Downey have returned to the Coast after a brief visit to Gisborne.—Mrs. Hickey, Makauri, is visiting her son, Mr. T. D. Hickey, Pukeoro, for the SherriffBurdett wedding, which took place in Tokomaru Bay on Saturday.—Miss E. Sherriff. Auckland, is a visitor to the Coast for her brother’s wedding.—Miss Crawford, Gisborne, is visiting Tokomaru Bay.
