COOKS AND STEWARDS
WAGES CUTS RESTORED

WELLINGTON, this day
Half of the 10 per cent, cut in wages has been restored to the cooks _and stewards of the Union Steam Slup Company, and also those on the Shell Comnany’s Paua and the Westport Coal Company's Canopus. This is in pursuance of an agreement reached this week. The increase in rostropeetive to December 1, and the Marama, which loft Auckland on Thursday for Sydney, is the first vessel on which the restoration will become effective.
