WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
WAINOAKE MEETING
The Waingake Women's Institute's December meeting was attended by almost all the members. The proceedings opened with the singing of the institute ode, followed by- the business of the month. The competition was for the best vase of flowers, and there was a beautiful display of blooms. Mrs H. R. Bhanks gained most points, with a bowl of various shades of blue flowers, Mrs K. McKenzie' and Miss A. Shanks securing second' and third places respectively. Mrs S. K. libite was the judge. Community singing figured on the programme, and an enjoyable halfhour passed in this way, with Mrs. F. Parker at the piano. Tea and social chat concluded a jolly meeting.
