The House of Commons approved the Unemployment Assistance Regulations by 258 votes to 61, after a noisy interlude in which Laborites angrily shouted protests against the Government, necessitating Mr. Speaker’s intervention. Laborites ccmplained that the scale of allowances was inadequate, but an amendment in that connection was rejected by 256 votes 75.
