•Mr B. Fitzgerald, of Gisborne, was a recent arrival .at Auckland. 'Sister Hussey has resigned frojn the staff of the -Cook Maternity Home to take up another appointment. Having completed 3,} years’ training Nurse Matthews lias resigned from tho staff of the -Cook Hospital. Nurse Ballard also has resigned.
Nurses M. 'Bissell, M. Hunt, jll. Chisholm, and M. Dean have been taken on to the probationary staff at Cook Hospital. Mr. IT. 11. DeCosta. who lias recently been recuperating at Te Pijia from his illness, returned to (Gisborne last evening. Mi. A. Lake, Wellington, who lias been appointed inspector of schools, was an assistant teacher for a short time at the Gisborne Central School about. 10 Years ago. He left for the Wellington district, and was headmaster at Thorndon and Brooklyn schools.
Mr. Cf. D. Gordon, assistant manager of the Wellington branch of the Vacuum Oil Company Pty., Limited, has been appointed the Christchurch branch manager in succession to Mr. li. A. Jonhs, who has been transferred to Melbourno on promotion.
