DEADLOCK REACHED
SYDNEY’S LORD MAYOR SYDNEY, Dec. 18. The newly-elected City Council ol Sydney made two unsuccessful attempts to elect the Lord Mayor. . Each occasion resulted in a deadlock, the two candidates, Alderman Parker and Alderman Jackson each receiving 10 votes, Alderman Parker being the former Lord Mayor. It is now believed that the Government will take the matter in hand.
