ANTARCTIC RESEARCH PLANE NEARLY CRASHES LITTLEI AMERICA, Dec. 18. Another attempt to make an aerial exploration of the north-eastern peaks was defeated when Mr. Harold June was forced to turn back by heavy fogs. After an hour’s flight at a high altitude, the motors stopped when the petrol supply failed, and the plane nearly crashed, but he managed to bring it back to camp safely. Admiral Byrd indicated that no more flight attempts woult( be made.
