CRICKET
LEG BEFORE RULE alteration opposed (Elec. Tel. Copyright —United Press Assn.) LONDON, Dec. 18. The executive council of the club cricket conference, which represents the rank and file of cricketers, resolved that Marylebone’s suggestion to alter the l.b.vv. rule is neither necessary nor desirable in club cricket.. Grinter, of Essex, who captained the conference’s representatives in their games, says that the alteration of the law would lead to a hopeless of affairs. Not more than from MgP 15 per cent, of club umpires would be capable of interpreting the rule properly.
