OBITUARY

MR. E. LEE NEIL (Klee. Tel.. Copyright—United Press Assn.) MELBOURNE, Dec. 17. The death lias occurred of Mr. E. Lee Neil, managing director of the Myer Emporium, aged 62 years, llis illness began within a few days of the death ol the recent governing director, Mr. Sidney Myer.

MRS. J. 11. BULIj The death occurred this morning of Mrs. J. H. Bull, an old resident or Gisborne and in her young womanhood a prominent member of the teaching profession. Mrs. Bull had been ailing progressively for the past two l yeats, and latterly her illness became such that her passing away was in the nature of a happy release from suffering, borne with great fortitude. The late Mrs. Bull was born at Milton, in tho South Island, and spent her childhood there. As a girl in her ’teens, she entered the teaching profession, and when she came to Gisborne it was to take the post of headmistress of tho Gisborne Central School, under the late Mr. Thomas Morgan. Mr. J. H. Bull succeeded Mr. Morgan as headmaster at Gisborne Central, and be and Mrs. Bull were married 44 years ago. They had lived all through the intervening years in Gisborne, where both won the" deep respect of the community, and tho keen affection of all who knew them well. The late Mrs. Bull was keenlv interested in golf and other social activities, and made a host ol friends throughout the district in her more active years. Some two years ago Mrs. Bull’s health began to fail, and Her passing to-day was not unexpected. The deceased is survived by her husband and one daughter and one son, Mrs. L. T. Barnard and Mr. N. H. Bull. Tho interment will take place privately to-morrow.
