The Times, in a leader, says it is characteristic of New Zealanders courage and confidence in the future that the Duke of Gloucester was called on to lay tho foundation stone of works extending and improving tlie Wellington railway. They not only foresee a return to prosperity, but aro doing their utmost to ensure it. The Duke of Gloucester spoke for the whole Mother C’ountrv when lie declared his hope that New Zealand soon would emerge towards prosperity.
