OBITUARY
MRS. JAMES HAY The. death yesterday of Mrs. Elisabeth Hay, wife of Mr. James Hay, WainUi road, removes one who had lived in Gisborne for nearly 50 years. Deceased was the daughter of patents wlio arrived in Invercatgill- during the pioneering days, and she and' her husband came to Gisborne about 45 or 50 yea re ago. Before coining north, Mr. Hay was interested in. the saw milling business. Shortly after .coming to Gisborne, he took up the position of storeman with the New Zealand Loah and Mercantile Agency. Company, Limited, and was with the firm for 55 : years up to his retirement,lo years ago. The husband, four daughters and one son remain to mourn their loss, atld there will lie widespread sympathy with them in their bereavement. The family comprises. Miss Bessie Hay; Gisborne- Mrs. L. Rhodes, Gisborne -■ MisS Edith’ -Hay, GiSborniv, Mrs. frank Mead, Wahala ; and Mr, Douglas Hay.
