A defended civil action involving a claim for possession was dealt with, by Mr E. L. Walton. S.M., in the Magistrate's Court to-day, the plaintiff being Thomas Grace, of Rnknuron, farmer (Mr. S. V. Beaufoy), and the defendant Edward Murphy, of Gisborne, poundkeepor. The plaintiff claimed possession of a bitch and pup, or their value, £3 10s, together with £1 10s damages, but after hearing the plaintiff's case the magistrate entered a nonsuit, with costs £1 Is to the defendant.
