'QUAKE IN INDIA
WIDE AREA AFFECTED EPICENTRE IN NEPAL CALCUTTA, Dec. 16. The whole of northern and central India and ißurma were shaken by a severe five-minute earthquake shock at 7.30 o'clock yesterday morning-. The epicentre is believed to be in southern Tibet, 200 miles north of Darjeeling. The shock was SO severe in Bombay that the seismograph, at Colaba observatory was out of action for several minutes.
It is feared that Khatamandu, Nepal's capital, is effected.
DAMAGE IN ANATOLIA 12 DEAD, 50 INJURED (Received December 17, 12 noon.) CONSTANTINOPLE, Dec. 16. An earthquake, which was recorded in in any parts of the, world yesterday, occurred near'' TSapadjur, Eastern Anatolia. The shocks were most violent. Thirty villages were destroyed, and 12 persons killed and 50 injured are already reported.
