'* The Boys and'dirls' Ajgricuiture Club hel(J its second antuwl held day at the Tolaga Bav School grounds' on Thurs4f"day, when lambs, *calves and yearlings y/ere judged and paraded. The weather was ideal, and a large crowd,of children, parents and friends was present. i There ;were 102 entries, and the,,judges wet© kept busy. Before the prizes- were. presented by Mis. James, Mr. S. Kemp thanked the parents for the interest shown, and paid a tribute to the boys and girls for the interest they had/taken in wtfrk, , Mr. 0. ,G. of- the Agricultural Club a committee, "extended his thanks to the donors of prizes. He also urged parents to take a practical interest in the. club by becoming.members, mentioning that this was'the mnin source of revenue, and thanked the judge for his helpful criticism. Mr. Cooper congratulated the children on their work, and said he was astonished at the. marked improvement in the number of entries. He also congratulated Mr. 0. G.,Calvert High School master, whose enthusiastic leadership and example had made the club possible. Mr. R., ! G. Lockhart, .instructor in agriculture for the. northern Hawke's Bay, schools, emnhnsfred the beneficial effect the worfc had in building character. Donald, head -.prefect, • thanked Mr. Copper for judrinfc 'for the past two years,' arid on hehjalf of the club presented him with a wallet as a mark of the appreciation , felt bv the members. Master Donald then, called for. cheers for Messrs. Cooper and-Calcott, which were given with enthusiast.
