V t To-day’s North Island Report. Overcast conditions wore reported this morning at Opotiki and Wellington, but blue slues prevailed elsewhere, in the North Island. Light to moderate northerly breezes were general. The barometer had continued to rise slowly. Temperatures at 9 o’clock were; Auckland, Tauranga, and Napier 72 degrees, Opotiki 70, Gisborne 75, and Wellington 65. Rough seas were reported at Cape Campbell, Wellington, and Castlepoint; elsewhere moderate or smooth. Last Night’s Forecast An anticyclone extends across the north Tasman Sea and! New Zealand, while a shallow depression is advancing across the South Tasman. Winds light to moderate southerlies in the far north; elsewhere light to moderate, but freshening north to north-west. In the eastern Tasman, • Sea, moderate soutli-'easterly winds in tlie northern portion, elsewhere winds tending temporarily to north-west, and freshening somewhat; seas moderate.
