MR. J. COLT UTTAR T DIES (Per Press Association.) NELSON, this day. Mr John Colthhart died to-day in his 102iul year. Born in Lanarkshire in 18311, lie came to Now Zealand in 18(51. lie 'took part in the Gabriel’s Gully gold rush and later- joined the Post and Telograph Department, being stationed on the West Coast of Nelson and Taranaki. He was engaged in the Maori wars with the Wanganui Rangers, and later lived in retirement with a daughter, Mrs Gatnboni, in Nel-
