GERMAN WAR VETERANS FREE SPEECH DEMANDED LONDON, Dee. 2. The first open criticism of the German Government seen for ,a long time is now' appearing regularly in the periodical We War Volunteers of 1914, says the Berlin correspondent of the Times. This journal outspokenly advocates free speech, bitingly satirises Nazi methods, and describes the community leaders as “Little Hitlers.” A professor pleads in an article for the right to interrupt political meetings, claiming that politicians cannot remain fighters if they are constantly faced by dumb obedience which wilL develop a real inferiority of charac-* ter. Major Foertsch, a former Reichswehr press officer, writes criticising military usages in civil life.
