CLOCK TOWER
(To tho Editor of tho Hornld.) Sir, —I should liko to congratulate the gentleman who made a valuable contribution to your correspondence column Inst, evening! It is pleasing to note there are still a few people who are not lacking in taste and a. sense of the artistic. Personally, I am in complete agreement- with “Ratepayer." and t am sure many others who take a pride in their town will admit that the spotlights erected by the council are distinctly unsightly and detract very much from the beauty of life Clock Tower which they, illuminate.
In connection with the inconvenience caused to motorists by the glare of these lights, I can readily see wiiat a danger it constitutes, although I am not a motorist, ami l consider the suggestion for overcoming it an excellent, one. Thanking you and trusting that the council will remedy this defect iii the lighting of the dock.—Yours, etc., GISBORNITE.
