rOR the first time in the history of * the" International Exhibitions of Inventions, a wpihaa has won the gold medal, the premier award. She is Mrs Elisabeth Richardson, of Shepherd's Bush, London. , Hey .invention is a zonograph—an ingenious automatic device for finding wifeless stations. Mrs Richardson is middle-aged. She has never invented anything before. Wireless is lief hobby. She has spent three and a half years in perfecting the zonograpli. _ “I used to get so impatient when listening-in to stations I did not know," she 3pid- "1 decided it ought to be possiblo to know any station immediately one tuned it in, without waiting for the announcement. "By means'of the zonograpli I can identify any station in a 'few seconds.”
