FUSILLADE OF BULLETS
MASKED ROBBERS ESCAPE MELBOURNE SENSATION* MELBOURNE, Nov. 19. Leaping into a high-powered motor car, and ignoring a fusillade of bullets fired by the police, two ma'sked robbers escaped with £BOO worth of tobacco and cigarettes ‘from Mr D. Cohen’s tobacco-store, situated in Swan street, Richmond, this morning. Whether any of the shots took effect is not known. The police ivere hidden in the vicinity owing to a mysterious message received by an employee last week reading: “Your shop will be raided over the week-end.”
