BUTTER MARKET BRISK FURTHER 3/- INCREASE The week’s business on the. butter market in London opened yesterday to a brisk demand, and. the value of New Zealand supplies increased a. further 2h •to 3s per ewt. Cheese* was also a little firmer, white lining 6d to Is dearer than values at. the close of last- week, colored remaining unaltered. Butter is now selling up to 77s and cheese to 54s 6d per ewt.
Messrs. Joseph Nathan and Company report to-day as follows“ Butter: Finest, 76s to 77s ; first-grade 1 ,74 sto 755; the market- is brisk. Cheese ; White, 54a fed; colored, 545; the market is firm.” FROZEN MEAT MARKET BETTER MUTTON DEMAND A better demand for mutton, but a continuation of tho dull trade for Jamb afe reported by the Meat Board in a review of the Smithfield market dated November 2, as follows: “Lamb.—The market remains dull, with heavy-weights easjer. “Mutton.—-Wethers and ewes are meeting with a slightly hotter demand. “Beef.—There is a good demand, with prices unchanged. “New Zealand porker pigs.—Heavier arrivals have eased prices. “New Zealand baconer pigs.—Quotations are npmingl.”
