NEED FOR AIR FORCE DISPLACING THE NAVY LONDON, Nov. 4. The Daily Mail contends that the lesson from the air manoeuvres is that had Britain been actually at war it: is doubtful whether rve would at present have had a navy. It was .shown how ridiculously easily a small number of warplanes can defeat a strong naval force. The Daily Mail cites Lord Ivothermero’s contention that the day of the warship is over. The desperate deficiency of warplanes lias placed England in deadly peril. The Government must immediately start building thousands.
