To-day’s North Island Report. Blue skies were reported this inornuig at Opotiki ami south, of Napier, but overcast conditions, continued elsewhere in the. North. Island'. Light to moderate south-easterly hreczes were general. .The barometer had commenced to rise again. Temperatures at 9 o’clock were: Auckland and Tauranga 63 degrees, Opotiki; 67, East Cape 58. Gisborne 57, Napier 61, and Wellington 59. Moderate of smooth seas were reported everywhere. Last Night’s Forecast
Pressure is still iairly high over the Tasman Sea and the greater, part of New Zealand, but a slight, depression is now passing in the far .north.. Winds variable, with light to moderate easterly to south-easterly predominating. Seas rather rough, north of East Cape; elsewhere smooth to moderate. In the, eastern Tasman moderate to fresh southeasterly winds in the northern portion: light, variable in the southern portion; seas smooth to moderate. Weather, some scattered rain still likely in the northern portions of the North .island, but shortly improving; elsewhere fine. Temperaturds becoming gradually milder. Midday Forecast
General inference. —A fairly intense Anticyclone now covers New Zealand, the centre,,being. over the South Island. Pressure is falling slowly over eastern Australia.
