(Herald Correspondent.) The rainfall for Koranga Valley for October was 5.56 in. Rain fell on Id days, the heaviest fall being 1.67 in. on October 2. The Matawai Lawn Tennis Club held a meeting on Thursday evening in the library. Miss L. Fielder was appointed secretary and treasurer, and arrangements were made for a caretaker to look alter the courts. A number of subscriptions were paid in, and it was agreed to commence play on November 10. The Matawai branch of the Douglas Social Credit Movement also met on Thursday evening. The meeting was held in the Stadium, Mr. W. L. Rutledge presiding. The speakers were Messrs. Scott and Hawkins, who, in addition to giving a very interesting address, distributed literature on the subject. Mrs. Hawkins accompanied her husband. . It was arranged to form a study, circle, which will meet at intervals throughout the summer.
