The weather was fine, but dull. The course was in excellent order, and (lie attendance was good. The totalisator investments amounted to £36,222 10s (win £14,567 10s, place £211,755), against £35,940 last year.

Spring Hurdles. —1-1 Free Air (Lawson), 1; 3-4 Red Sun (Thompson), 2; 4-3 Monastic (Turner), 3. Also ran : 6-6 Hounslow, 2-2 Lycidas, 11-11 Cold Knight, 8-7 l’uncliesfown, 5-5 Revision, 8-10 Kapuna. 10-9 Fastwork, 9-8 Coll. 12-12 Jerry Roy (feil). Free Air led past the stands from Hounslow, Jerry Roy, Monastic, Fastwork, Gold Knight, and Coll. Free Air was followed into the back by Jerry Roy, Monastic, Coll, and Gold Knight. Free Air and Coil were the leaders at the far turn and were followed across the top by Hounslow, Gold 1 Knight, Monastic and Red Sun. Once over the last fence, Free Air went on to win by two lengths from Red Sun, Monastic four lengths away, and Coll fourth. Time, 3.10 2-5.

Coming to the homo (urn, Rebel Star was followed by .Master Reynard, Chidden, Sam Smith and Maudlin. Rebel Star held his place, in the rim home and won by a length from Mauetlio; Sam Smith a head l away, and Chidden fourth. Time, 1.39 2-5.

At the mile, Steeton was 20 lengths clear of Some Shamble and Great Star, with Red Manfred, Gold Trail, Polydont, Alight, Aesculus and Hazoor next. _ T’he leaders were still the same rounding the- far turn across the top. At the home turn Steeton was six lengths clear of Some Shamble, with Great Star. Hazoor, Gold Trail, Polydorn, anci Walton Park following. Stccton maintained her advantage- in the run home and won bv two lengths from Gold Trail. Alight was three lengths away, and Huzoor fourth. Time, 3.25 2-5.

Grand Sport, Mobile, Silver Streak, Pin Money and Copyist. Grand Sport drew out at the distance and won by three-quarters of a length from Copyist; Cranford a neck away. Time. 1.10 2-5.
