Mr. Henry Ford to-day set the 1935 production quota of libs company at 1,000,000 automobiles, the highest since 1950, because “our experience during the last six months, and what vve sec in the future, lolls us that this year improved business i.s ahead,” Mr. Ford said. The depression would be over for nie whole country very soon, he said, it' American industrialists would forget their alphabet schemes and run their industries with sound American business sense. He recommended that “'they take hold of their country too, in the same way.” Mr. Ford’s statement was received with deep interest by Washington officials, but,the White House spokesman emphasised that Mr. Roosevelt does not intend to issue any “prosperity is just around the corner” pronouncements.
