TRACK SEASON OPENING FLOODLIGHT PROSPECTS TWO MORE ROAD RACES The executive of the Poverty Bay Professional Athletic and Cycling Club held its weekly meeting last evening, when Mr. EL. Sharpies presided over an attendance comprising Messrs. J. Sutton, R. Gritton, N. C. L. Davy, VV. Watt, W. McDonald, and R. Humphreys, hon. secretary. It was decided to open the track season of 1934-35 on the Victoria Domain on November 15, and a sub-committee was set up to confer with Power Board officials on the floodlighting of the domain for the purposes of evening meets.
Two further road cycle races are to be conducted by the club, in order to finalise the competition for the T. G. Lawless Cup, which is competed for over a scries of races, and the award decided on the points aggregate. The next race will be conducted on Thursday, and the final road race of the season on November 15. The 'committee decided to call members of tho club together to-morrow for a week-end working bee on the domain, in preparation for the opening of the track season.
