Coast Stock Movements
AWNERS of stock being brought from the Coast across the cattle tick boundary between the A. and B. areas must give the inspector of stock reasonable notice, if drovers arc not to be occasioned delay. This was mentioned by the senior stock inspector at Gisborne, Mr. F. It. Bould, when discussing the matter during the week. He said that the dipping permit issued by the Uawa County Council’s officer in charge of the dip was sufficient for cattle, but sheep must, be inspected by an officer of the Stock Division, and a permit issued by that officer. The Stock Division's inspector had to come from Gisborne, and it. was only fair to expect some notice to be given by an owner or drover requiring a permit. The regulations provided that seven days’ notice should be given, but Mr. Bould said that be would be satisfied with an intimation 24 hours before the time inspection was desired.
