NEW CLUB FORMED TO PLAY AT RAWIRI A decision to form a new lawn tennis club was reached at a meeting held this week, when about 26 prospective members ‘attended, and manifested a considerable degree of enthusiasm in connection. with the project. The club is to tender for the use of the courts at Poho-o-Rawiri, which have been offered for lease by the Native Department. Mr. H. Symes was elected to take the chair, and the convener, Mr. R. Connop, explained the purpose) of the meeting and outlined the conditions under which the club might tender for the lease of the courts. After some discussion, it was decided unanimously to form a club, to be called the Titirangi Lawn Tennis Club, the name of the new organisation being the subject of a ballot. Hampton; vice-captain, Mr. P. Tureia; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. R. Connop; committee, Misses M. Henshaw and J. Maxwell, Messrs. 11. Symes, V. Walker, R. Halbert, and K. It. Waite. Subscriptions for active adult members were fixed at 22s 6d per season for men, and 17s 6d for ladies; junior members (under 18 years} will pay half fees, and honorary members will be enrolled at a charge of 5s per season. The affiliation fee. payable to the Poverty Ray and Eiist Coast Lawn Tennis Association, will he added to the subscriptions of the playing members, who will furnish an extra Is per head for this purpose.
