Y.M.C.A. GYMNASTIC DISPLAY One of the most diversified programmes yet seen in Gisborne will be that of the Y.M.C.A. gymnastic display, to be held in the Opera House to-mor-row evening. Last year it was necessary to show on two nights owing to the number turned away on the. first night, but this year the. show will be held on the olio night only, and intending patrons should book their seats without delay. Several brilliant features have been introduced into this year’s effort, and it cun bo confidently claimed that the standard surpasses that of former demonstrations. 'The specialty items this year are as follows: —The Roman ring dare-devils, the first Roman ring squill to perform before the public of Poverty Bay; the midgets, a troupe of juvenile aerial acrobats; the Jiving statuary squad, portraying marble masterpieces of bygone centuries; the aerial pyramid builders, who give an exhibition of pyramid building on ladders many feet above the stage; two beautiful ballets, trained by Mrs. .). The Mnnuink'e bachelors' ball, to he held in the Memorial Hall on Thursday night, should be an enjoyable function. A free bus leaves Hannah’s corner at 7.45 p.m.
