NEW PRIVATE SCHOOL
PROPERTY IN WAIKATO £50,000 TO BE SPENT (Per Press Association.) CAMBRIDGE, this day. The sale of Gwynnelands estate of 90 acres on the Hamilton road, three miles from Cambridge, was completed yesterday to a former English public; schoolmaster, Mr. Arthur I*’. B. Broadhurst, who intends establishing a hoys’ preparatory school, to lie the largest of its kind in New Zealand. The initial outlay on land and buildings will be £50,000. The erection of buildings will commence in March. It is understood that the. Rev. W. M. Beaufort, at present head of King’s School, Auckland, will he headmaster. Mr. Broadhurst formerly was a director of Messrs. Tootal Broadhurst and Lee, Limited, of Manchester. Gwynnelands is one of the oldest estate’s in the district. Tiie homestead, which probably will form part of the school, was built 54 years ago.
