EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS POPE’S RADIO BLESSING BUENOS AIRES, Oct. .14. More than 1,000,000 people jammed Palermo Park and the nearby streets to hear, a greeting and benediction from Pope Pius/ speaking by wireless from the Vatican on the last day of the Eucharistic Congress. The benediction was in Latin.
Cardinal Pacelli celebrated pontijical mass. The entire assemblage turned the park into a sea of white, with waving handkerchiefs, 'just, before Cardinal Pacelli pronounced the apostolic blessing, ending the ceremony. The Vatican wireless achieved its longest performance when the Pope mierophoned a blessing to the congress. He referred to the recent assassinations and prayed that the spirit of Christ would provide peace for a world afflicted by the shadow of strife.
