Mr. and Mrs. W. Turnbull, Xgatapn, left this morning on a holiday trip in Auckland. Canon A. F. Hall returned yesterday from Napier, where lie has been attending the Diocesan Synod. Messrs. 11. H. DeCosta and F. C. Ellis returned to Gisborne last week-end after a brief visit to Wellington. Mr. Walter' Ardent, who has hem under treatment in hospital for some weeks, has now recovered sufficiently to return to his home. The many friends of Mr. C. V, O’Connell. Tolaga Bay,'will be sorry to learn that he is a patient in the Cook Hospital. Miss Xola Luxford, the young Now Zealander who has often befit heard conducting special “Down Under” relays from KFI, Los Angeles, is now lean,,.; lady of International Players, a company which was presenting “Lombtmli, Limited” at Vancouver when the. last mail left. Mr.. M. J. Jacobs, Wellington, Nelson and Marlborough vice-president of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association, has been added to the New Zealand delegation to the Empire Service League conference in Melbourne. The delegation will sail from Auckland by the- Niagara on October 30. Brigadier-General Alexander Jkw:;. K.C., C.M.G., D. 5.0.. V.D.. will reach Auckland on October 29 on his way tit Melbourne to attend the biennial 'conference of the British Empire Service League. General Ross is the Dominion president of' the Canadian Legion, the official ex-servicemen's organisation in Canada.
