87TH BIRTHDAY LONG RECORD Ob' SERVICE | 'Still on,joying remarkably good health atul full of mental vigor, Arch-' bishop Julius, of Christchurch, celebrated his eighty-seventh birthday yesterday. His career in the ministry of the Church extends over a .period of (i;i years, for he was ordained deacon in IS7I and priest in 1872. After . serving for a period as Archdeacon ’ of Ballarat, he was consecrated Bishop of Christchurch in 1890. In 1922 lie became the first Archbishop of New Zealand. T)r.
