NEW ZEALANDER BIG-GAME HUNTING.— Mr. Alf. Sligo, of Wellington, and the elephant he shot while big-game h un ting in South Africa. This elephant stood 9ft 7in high at the shoulder, and was 16ft 6in long front head to rump. His trunk was sft 4in long, and his tail 4ft 6in. Mr. Sligo spent 40 days after big game, during which he secured 67 head.
