LIN DRUM MEETS DAVIS (E’en. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received Oct. 1(5, 2 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Oct. 18. The match for the world’s billiards title began between Walter Lindrum, the holder, and Joe Davis, the English champion. ■Lindrum led in the afternoon session, but Davis was confident at night. Scores are: Davis, 1002; Lindrum, 1774. The best breaks were; Davis, 507; Lindrum, 343.
